My experience at Sumbu Panguripan was something I will never forget. At first, I was a bit nervous to meet the students, but I soon forgot my nerves and, before I knew it, I was having fun singing, teaching, and even playing with them. They were welcoming to me from the beginning, a stranger from very far away. We talked about American culture, family, hobbies, sang songs, like 'If You're Happy and You Know It', 'Sing a Song', and 'Skitta Marinki Dinki Dink', and played Duck Duck Goose. A tour of their houses and school taught me about how and where they live and study. I know my time with the students there made a big impression on me and I hope they were able to gain something from it as well. There is no doubt in my mind that I will go back to Sumbu Panguripan next year to visit the students and help out with the school. I am excited to reunite with the students I met this time and to meet the new students who I am sure will have joined the community.
